CITY OF REFUGE CHRISTIAN CHURCH
Vision...God has given me a vision for His people in the City of St. Louis. The City of Refuge Christian Church shall be a church comprised of people from all walks of life who have been rejected for various reasons. No matter what road in life you are on, there is refuge in the City. We shall establish ministries, which cause individuals to recognize and acknowledge the giftings which God has placed on the inside of each person. We are to become agents of love, healing and reconciliation. We are to bring together our gifts and talents to uplift our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in a unique way. "And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all people to Myself." (John 12:32)
The goal of ministry is that people are saved, healed and delivered from the strongholds of the enemy. As we become transparent about our own situations, we shall attract others who have been bruised and battered. ;They too will learn to use God's principles, which lead to triumph and victory. "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." (Psalms 46:1) We shall help people realize their acceptance in the beloved. "We are no longer strangers and foreigners." (Ephesians 2:19-22)
"In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in Him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before Him: God is a refuge for us." (Psalms 62:7-8)
This house shall minister to those who have experienced broken relationships while in the church for they have been dropped. We shall be repairers of the breach. "And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called: The repairer of the breach. "The restorer of paths to dwell in." (Isaiah 58:12)
This house shall bring unity to the entire body of Christ by promoting fellowship, community events, religious services and Word Feasts: Believers throughout the city will come together to feast on the Word of God. We shall be instrumental in breaking down the barriers; which keep the body of Christ segregated.
This house shall minister to the youth and young adults. Charnack Village will be established to train up our young people so they may successfully combat the challenges to growing up victoriously. ;With supervision, they will be given the responsibility of running this department. "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6) The Hebrew meaning of Charnak is to initiate, to teach, to dedicate, and to train children as indicated by the Word of God.
This house shall accept God's people from every walk of life. We shall affirm them in the body of Christ. We shall strive to show forth the unconditional love of God for He has mandated that His church be a place of safety for those who are afraid, healing for those who are hurting, and acceptance for those who feel unloved. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son." (John 3:16)
This holistic ministry for the spirit, soul and body will cause God's people to mature in Christ through the Word of God. "And He gave some apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ." (Ephesians 4:11-12)
